There is perhaps no greater quest in his life than the quest for the perfect T-shirt. There’s something about shopping for wardrobe essentials that always leaves a person wanting more. Whether your bulging biceps never fit properly in department store options or your big belly doesn’t look good in fast fashion picks, t-shirts are tough. And that’s putting it lightly.

If you’re tired of being a T-shirt hunter-gatherer who never gets enough, Amazon might have the custom solution for you. Best part? It will only cost you $25.

Amazon’s Made for You t-shirts are customized by shoppers, tailored to their exact style and fit preferences. And you don’t even need a tape measure to get it right, just your smartphone.

The best way to order a Made for You shirt is through the Amazon app, though you can narrow your selection on your desktop if you prefer. To be measured via Amazon’s app, all you need to do is provide your height, weight, body type and take two photos of yourself in fitted clothes. From there, Amazon creates a duplicate of your virtual body, allowing you to view further customizations such as fit, fabric, color, shirt length, sleeve length, and neckline.

As a plus-size woman who has been body-shamed throughout her life (and thus led to fun emotional trauma related to the body), the idea of being confronted with a virtual body double was more anxiety-provoking than anything else. But seeing my double with all her curves and generous ass was actually a source of confidence, at least for me. Not only was the virtual body doubly accurate to how my body looked, but it allowed me, as a very visual shopper, to better select my style and fit preferences.

When it comes to my personal concerns when buying a t-shirt, I have, well, a lot. I often tell people that I have shoulders like a football player, which makes the tiny sleeves of women’s t-shirts sit oddly on my arms. I also have what I call an “elongated torso” which causes many t-shirts to fit me too short. And, finally, I hate tight t-shirts that hug and highlight some of my body insecurities. Hey, even though I try to be the confident plus size woman who doesn’t care, that’s my background.

When choosing my perfect Made for You t-shirt, I chose a white v-neck in a heavier Pima cotton, wanting to go with something classic. I opted for a long fit to curb those “loose torso” struggles and decided on a relaxed fit to stay with my comfort level. I chose a low v-neck to show some skin and elbow length sleeves to counter my shoulders which would make Tom Brady jealous.

The shirt arrived at my door surprisingly quickly, within days. For custom clothing, the instant gratification that Amazon is known for was still there. And, to be honest, my Made for You t-shirt is the best fitting t-shirt I’ve worn in a long time. The material rivals $50 t-shirts I own, although the fit is far superior, and that’s because it’s customized to my liking. The sleeves actually cover my arms and the length is long which is a luxury in my book. It’s the perfect casual t-shirt over jeans and a t-shirt that I could wear more or less depending on my mood.

The service is particularly suitable for those who have special concerns when it comes to buying t-shirts. Whether you’re a short guy struggling to find a t-shirt that doesn’t last too long, or a tall, tall guy who lacks shopping options in general, you’ll find that Amazon’s Made for You service fills a void in the market. Have you bulked up recently? This program will have you covered for sure.

And for $25? It is more than worth it.

However, there are limits to the service. Currently, Amazon only allows you to select a weight of 400 pounds and under when entering your stats, with even lower weight caps for certain shorter heights. Many plus-size people weighing 400+ pounds have trouble finding any clothes that will fit them, making this service ideal for those who often can’t find their size at popular online or in-store retailers. However, the current weight cap apparently leaves these people behind, arguably some of the people who need a service like this the most.

But for a new and relatively unknown service, Made for You by Amazon is an innovative concept that makes customizing clothes truly affordable. For those with body quirks that are never catered for in fast fashion t-shirts, this is a game changer. Fam with an elongated torso, I’m talking to you.
